While every partner has experience in client relations, investment management, portfolio building, and retirement plans, we each focus on and bring something special to the table.
Spencer focuses on the coaching aspect of financial planning and investment management. He enjoys building a personal relationship with each of our clients, learning their unique goals and interests and assisting them in implementing a plan that will help them achieve financial independence. In addition, Spencer heads our research efforts in individual equities and industry sector trends. Spencer’s passion and inspiration for investing was instilled in him by his grandfather, who taught him to invest in companies that you believe in and use in your daily life.
Jim focuses on the technical aspects of financial planning and investment management, drawing upon his 25+ years in the corporate financial world. He strives to treat our clients’ lives as he would a real business, a concept we call “You, Inc.” In addition, he is responsible for asset allocation, preparing and delivering custom financial plans and performing due diligence on all investment recommendations and opportunities. As a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional, he follows a distinct six-step planning process with each client and adheres to a strict ethical code.
Spencer offers over 19 years of experience in the financial industry specializing in financial planning and investment management. Spencer has extensive knowledge of company retirement plans and executive benefits. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, holds a certificate of financial planning from the Florida Institute of Technology, and has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation. Spencer current holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, in addition to numerous insurance licenses.
In addition to his professional affiliations and credentials, Spencer stays actively involved in his community through many local civic organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation. Spencer is also active with Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association, Severna Park Peloton, Nanci’s Gift and Mariners Church.
Originally from Birmingham, Michigan, Spencer now resides in Severna Park with his wife Rachel and their three children. When Spencer is not working he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and watching his children play sports.
Jim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Francis University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from George Mason University. With over 20 years of public accounting and corporate financial management experience and over 16 years as a financial planner, Jim holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 66 licenses, in addition to numerous insurance licenses.
Through a partnership with our independent broker-dealer, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., we have access to a team of virtual office assistants who allow us to spend more time with our clients by taking on some of our administrative tasks.
Raelyn began her career at Cambridge in 2011. Since that time, she has built extensive experience working with new accounts and account transfers. She attended Indian Hills Community College for Health Information Technology and has completed Cambridge training for Service Excellence. Raelyn plays a key role on the Cambridge Source team by assisting rep advisors with client paperwork and making phone calls.
In her free time, Raelyn ejoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys participating in rodeos, riding horses, hunting and camping.
Taryn Schnoebelen joined Cambridge in 2018. In her current role, Taryn assists financial advisors with administrative responsibilities including account management, reporting and planning, communication, and client management.
Taryn earned a degree in dietetics and nutrition science from Fontbonne University. She currently lives in southeast Iowa where she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, three children, and three dogs.
